Summary

Designing AI systems that think with you, not for you, is good for people—and for business. In this session, neuroscientist-turned-design-researcher Dr. Stefanie Hutka draws on lessons from her book, What Your Machines Should Do: The Science and Strategy of Human-Centered Automation, to demonstrate why and how to design AI experiences that promote cognitive expansion rather than replacement. Drawing on decades of research in cognitive science, human factors, and HCI, this talk translates theory into practice.
You’ll leave the session with actionable frameworks and tools that help you:
  • Design AI automation to reduce mental clutter and make room for learning and understanding.
  • Map current workflows to evaluate if and where AI automation can act as a human force multiplier.
  • Delegate tasks strategically to amplify the distinct strengths of both humans and machines.
Join to learn how to design AI products that extend human capabilities and create trusted user experiences while driving business value.
