After running DC-based boutique design firm EightShapes for 18 years, Dan struck out on his own, starting Curious Squid Design Lab to continue providing high quality information architecture and UX consulting to enterprise organizations. Through Curious Squid, Dan helps product teams level-up their information architecture skills and incorporate IA into their design processes, and build complex products. Dan is the author of three UX books. He created the Information Architecture Lenses, a tool to help designers apply IA thinking to their work, and currently co-hosts and produces the podcast Unchecked, the architecture of disinformation. Dan’s passion for information architecture is eclipsed only by his enthusiasm for board games.
