Daniel Gloyd
Independent Design & Research Consultant
Daniel is a designer and research expert specializing in the fields of human-computer interaction and user experience design. He's helped organizations such as Toyota, Samsung, and McDonald's embrace human-centered design for over 25 years.
He's a thought leader in his field and has focused his work on humanizing the technology-driven worlds we increasingly inhabit. He is dedicated to developing and sharing principles of warmth with anyone who “builds worlds” — from social services to online education — in order to prioritize the interconnectedness we humans need in order to thrive.
After earning a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Daniel went on to found the User Interface team at Samsung’s Los Angeles Design Lab and later become partner and founding VP of Research at Gist Design, acquired by TrueFit Innovation in 2014.
Gloyd has written two forthcoming books: one about designing warmth, another about warmth in Shaker Design. He is the author of a published white paper, “Positive User Experience and Medical Adherence,” and is the inventor on five US design patents.
