Jeff has been working with Agile principles and practices since before the Agile Manifesto was written. Since then, he's held senior positions at leading technology, enterprise, and IT services companies where he's managed Agile development, QA, and operations teams and consulting practices.
Jeff discovered the need for DevOps as a solutions architect at a managed hosting provider. They realized we couldn’t just hand infrastructure over to our customers and leave them to manage it on their own. He used this insight to create an entire new business line for the company.
In addition to implementing Agile and DevOps for companies and their customers, Jeff has led workshops and given keynote talks at conferences throughout the US and Europe. He introduced the DevOps community to the importance of empathy. Thanks to the cloud, software has become service, and needs end-to-end customer-centric thinking. This perspective is reflected in Delivering Design, the book he authored for O’Reilly Press.
