Sara Romanoski
Supervisory Design Strategist, The Lab at OPM
Sara Romanoski is a design leader who builds systems that enable team collaboration and advance organizational maturity. Most recently, she served a Supervisory Design Strategist at the The Lab at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management working to make the government more human-centered. Sara co-led the program’s design operations to enable scoping, resourcing, and delivery of design innovation efforts in collaboration with federal partners including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the US Geological Survey, and the Office of Management and Budget. She designed processes to manage a portfolio of more than two dozen active partner projects and to collect and disseminate knowledge about practicing design in the public sector.
Prior to federal service, she had more than a decade of experience in the non-profit sector where she worked in close partnership with local and state government, NGOs, and individuals on issues related to preservation, housing, economic development, public health, and public design. Sara participated in the Presidential Management Fellow program and holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning.
