Husani Oakley
Creative Executive
Husani S. Oakley is a writer, creative director, technologist, and senior executive with 25 years of experience telling stories, creating award-winning work, and leading global teams.
Most recently, he was the Global Director, Creative Practices at Netflix, where he helped define the art and science of great creative across all Netflix content, original and licensed.
Previously, he served as Chief Technology Officer for IPG’s Deutsch New York, leading development of integrated advertising campaigns for clients such as Reebok, Budweiser, PNC Bank, Outback Steakhouse, and AT&T.
Named in Adweek’s 2020 Creative 100, an annual celebration of the “most fascinating creative professionals,” and a 2021 Campaign US 40 Over 40 honoree, Husani’s creative, technical, and production leadership has been recognized by One Show, AICP, Webby Awards, and the FWA, and he's spoken at conferences such as SXSW, HOW Design, Australia’s ADMA, Money20/20, and more.
Husani was invited by the Obama Administration to attend both the White House LGBTQ Tech / Innovation Briefing and the White House Summit on Building the Workforce of Tomorrow.
A start-up veteran, Husani co-founded GoldBean, an online investing platform; Flavorpill, a cultural media platform; and Atlantico, a modern furniture retailer.
Dedicated to serving his community, he advises various non-profits, and serves on the Board of Directors of Opportunity Music Project (where he is co-chair of the Fundraising Committee).
A New Jersey native, Husani lives in the New York City metropolitan area with his partner, a choreographer, and their dog.
